Devotional Thoughts on the Bible, The Pentateuch by Charles Spurgeon (Paperback)
Product Description
Publisher's Description
Charles Haddon Spurgeon, the gifted nineteenth-century English preacher, was a man whose whole being seemed infused with the Word of God. He possessed a deep passion for men and women to know God--and then to keep growing in their knowledge of him. To this end, he worked tirelessly to advance and defend the truths of Scripture and to present the excellencies of his Saviour. The exceptional breadth of his ministry and its lasting influence, even on modern-day evangelicals, is remarkable.
Endorsement
Having read many of Spurgeon's sermons, reading this book is like listening to my beloved pastor read a passage of Scripture and comment on it, adding a depth and richness that I would miss on my own. Although in his sermons, Spurgeon speaks at great length over one verse of Scripture, in this book he covers a passage or chapter in a couple of pages therefore including more context with his comments. His writings show God's sovereignty and grace, giving me a greater love and respect for the Almighty God.
