Hus the Heretic by Poggius the Papist (Paperback)
Product Description
Publisher's Description
One of the greatest of Reformers in the annals history was John Hus (the "goose" of Bohemia, as he was derisively called). His pious life and witness during his trial and martyrdom convinced many of the priests and church leaders of his innocence and the justice of his cause. Poggius was the papal legate who delivered the summons to John Hus to appear at the council of Constance, then participated in the council as a voting member. Hus was given a safe conduct by the emperor Sigismund (sitting on the throne, front cover) which he cowardly broke in deference to the pressure from Hus' inveterate enemies.
