Earlier generations of writers knew how to apply the narratives of the Old Testament, both for believers and as illustrations of Gospel grace. John Ross Mac Duff (1818-1895) examines 2 Kings 5, the account of the healing of Naaman the Syrian general and, having set the scene in the first chapter which describes the geographical details, focuses on each element of the account so as to trace the seeker‘s journey to faith. Pastoral lessons are also given due emphasis.

This book makes delightful devotional reading and will furnish the preacher with a great deal of material for messages based on this familiar passage.
