Product Description
About the Author
Iain Hamish Murray, born in Lancashire, England, in 1931, was educated at Wallasey Grammar School and King William's College in the Isle of Man (1945-49). From 1956 he was for three years assistant to Dr Lloyd-Jones at Westminster Chapel and there, with the late Jack Cullum, founded the Banner of Truth Trust in 1957.
Publisher's Description
Should the Psalter be the only hymnal of the church? Iain Murray has sympathy with the question. Psalms set to music are a rich heritage and one not to be set aside, yet he argues that there are biblical reasons why it is a mistake to suppose that the words of the Old Testament alone are to be used in the singing of praise.
Endorsement
I have never read a more concise defense for hymnody in public worship. Murray ask questions I cannot answer if I take the exclusive psalmody position.
